Most Muslims offer 3 Rakah of Witr, but it has no restriction, can be offered more than 3. Witr Salah is the last prayer of the day which can be offered after Isha and before Fajr. This salah is offered in odd rakats such as 3, 5,7,9, and so on. In Islam, as every prayer has its specific Prayer times this is how Witr Salah offers at a specific time of the day. It’s good to recite Dua e Qunoot but if you do not remember it well, then you can recite Surah Ikhlas three times instead. What is the alternative to dua-e-qunoot in the Witr namaz? The word Qunoot means “ The act of standing” and Dua means “ the act of supplication“. Dua e Qunoot is not from Quran as Ayat ul Kursi. It’s associated with Witr in Isha prayer. Reciting Dua e Qunoot is sunnah because it is recited by Hazrat Muhammad (s.a.w.w) during different occasions. In Islam, every Dua has its own importance and reward.
